Loiyangalani is a small town located on the southeastern coast of Lake Turkana, a frontier region in Northern Kenya. I have been to Loiyngalani twice, the first trip being  September last year, whilst there I had the opportunity of visiting the Desert museum Loiyangalani.

Loiyangalani Musuem is Located on top of a hill, with a backdrop of the picturesque Lake Turkana. It was established in 2008 with the aim of highlighting the unique traditions and cultures of the people of Northern Kenya.

I have been to Loiyangalani, although the journey from Nairobi is long and exhausting, the experience is truly amazing. The landscape changes drastically almost every 100km. Swimming in Lake Turkana was an experience to behold.

It’s so great that there’s a museum highlighting other tribes in Kenya as it often seems that the Maasai get most of the attention. I’d love to check out this museum and I wish I could play those drums! Beautiful sunset shots as always!

What a cool idea for a museum! It looks like a beautiful place.

This post certainly has an abundance of beautiful shots. I really like the silhouette of the last one. It captures a spirit of exuberance. This museum seems so isolated and surrounded by beautiful landscapes. I especially like that two signs mention that most of the rock carvings have images of giraffes.

The views are stunning, and the museum looks really interesting. I would love to see the ancient rocks.
