Another Watamu post.

Yet another Watamu post, can you tell I miss it? I took these photos on the day I arrived after one of the worst journeys . This is what happens when I listen to my brother. He insisted we get a matatu from Mtwapa (pics from our stop there coming up in the near future) while I on the other hand had wanted us to go back into Mombasa town and get a matatu from there. Let’s just say that I regret giving in..the matatu we got into made stops in every place imaginable. It was also ancient and I’m pretty sure the journey took almost an hour longer than it should take. Anyway, enough with the ranting.

Road to WatamuA slightly better view of the creek (Yes we passed by Kilifi town. I told you the matatu stopped EVERYWHERE!)

We finally made it!

By the way getting to Watamu by public transport is pretty easy. From Mombasa just get a matatu heading towards Malindi and get off at Gede and from there it’s pretty easy to get to Watamu. There are matatus, tuktuks and motorcycle taxis. I recommend matatus, the drive is not exactly short

The beach was pretty empty plus the beach boys were really polite

Beach boy: Hi

Me: Hi

Him: Can I disturb you

Me: No

Him: Ok (walks off)

We stayed on the beach till dusk…Just chilling and taking photos. I was too tired to do much else

The view was spectacular. This picture does not even begin to capture how awesome the view was

That’s all for now, I hope you enjoyed the post.
